SELF-PORTRAIT

I don't drink coffee. But I love working with materials and products that are new to my visual world, like the coffee cup sleeves I used for this sculpture. This piece is a self-portrait, conceptually driven by the meaning of my name in Hindi, Malini-a garden of flowers.

This sculpture was choosen for a juried BFA Sculpture Show, January, 2005 at PNCA. It was also exhibited simultaneously at Visage Gallery and Countrywide Home Loans in April + May, 2005. It is now in the art collection of Sussane Hassim and Tom Manley.
